Background
I'm an Asian-born, European-raised, Diaspora-Somali and a versatile data and analytics professional with about 10 years of tech consulting experience spanning the entire data development lifecycle.
My unique value lies in bridging technical execution and business strategy — moving fluidly between engineering data pipelines, building self-service BI platforms, leading Agile delivery teams, and consulting at executive level.
As a deliberate deep generalist, I bring cross-functional expertise to complex engagements where a single-discipline specialist falls short. Lately I've been focusing on enabling data-driven decision-making through self-service analytics platforms.
I prefer fully remote contracts with European travel as needed. Based in Stockholm; previously Berlin and London.
Beyond the brief
Stargazing has been a constant companion since childhood. There's something about looking at the scale of the universe that keeps professional problems in perspective.
I'm working on a 3-year plan to build a small planetarium and observatory in Hargeisa, Somaliland, specifically for school children. Science literacy starts young, and access to it shouldn't depend on geography.
I've been writing essays since high school — mostly about identity, development, and what it means to carry multiple cultures at once. They're personal, occasionally uncomfortable, and written with the directness I've always preferred to polish.
I'm currently compiling my first book: a collection of essays aimed at my homeland, covering everything from governance to education to the strange experience of being diaspora.
Data and AI isn't just what I do for clients — it's what I find genuinely intellectually interesting. I'm planning a part-time PhD in Data & AI to run alongside consulting work, probably within the next couple of years.
The goal isn't credentials. It's the structured deep-dive into problems that commercial consulting timelines rarely allow for.
MSc Innovation & Entrepreneurship — Stockholm University. This is where I built the frameworks I use for thinking about how organisations change.
Executive MBA — Chile. A year spent learning how business strategy looks from a different hemisphere, with a cohort from across Latin America.
Fudan University — Shanghai. A formative period for understanding how scale, speed, and a different model of pragmatism actually work in practice.
BSc Accounting & Finance — The analytical foundation. Numbers before narratives.

Competitive rate negotiated based on scope, type, and duration. Lower fixed rate for defined projects; higher end for ad-hoc engagements. No surprises once the contract is signed.
