Workit.

A workout tracker that works when your gym's Wi-Fi doesn't.

Offline-first · No app store needed

Built for real training sessions.

Most fitness apps want a subscription, an account sign-up, and a reliable data connection. The basement of a gym has none of those things. I built Workit because I wanted something that tracked my actual programme — sets, reps, weight, rest timers, progress over time — without any of those requirements.

Workit is a mobile-first Progressive Web App for personal training. The defining technical feature is the offline queue: writes are buffered to IndexedDB when the device is offline and flushed to the database when connectivity returns. You can log a full session with no signal and everything syncs cleanly when you leave.

The workout player manages timers, video demonstrations, and live personal record detection simultaneously. Workbox handles caching so the app loads from cache even if Supabase is unreachable. Install it as a PWA directly from your browser — no app store, no account required.

I run it on my phone every training day. It's a daily-use MVP.

Technical highlights.

01 / 04

Offline Queue

IndexedDB · Sync on Reconnect

All writes during offline sessions are buffered to IndexedDB. When the device regains connectivity, the queue flushes to Supabase in order — no data loss, no manual sync step, no duplicate entries.

Workbox Caching

Service Worker · Cache-First Strategy

Workbox pre-caches the application shell and runtime assets so the app loads instantly from cache — even if Supabase is completely unreachable. The training session starts regardless of network state.

Workout Player

Timers · Video Demos · Live PR Detection

The workout player runs rest timers, plays exercise video demonstrations, and detects personal records in real time — all simultaneously during a live session. Optimised for one-handed use on a phone mid-set.

04 / 04

Progress Tracking

Recharts · Volume · Strength Trends

Session history is visualised with Recharts — volume over time, strength progression per exercise, personal records timeline. The data you actually want to see after months of consistent training.
